Saratoga Hospital Introduces a State-of-the-Art CT Scanner

This fall, we celebrated a major milestone—the ribbon-cutting for our state-of-the-art Siemens X.Cite CT scanner in the Alfred Z. Solomon Emergency Center. This advancement was made possible by the generosity of our incredible community donors, including lead gifts from the Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild, The Robert and Lisa Moser Family Foundation, Bill and Susan Dake/Stewart's Shops, Mike and Linda Toohey, and Millennium Medical Imaging. Together, you have helped us take a leap forward in providing exceptional care.

“We are deeply grateful to these donors for their incredible generosity and for making the new equipment a reality,” said Jill VanKuren, Saratoga Hospital president and CEO. “The new CT scanner has already become an integral part of daily operations in the hospital’s Emergency Department and inpatient care since becoming operational in mid-August. In addition to its superior imaging, the scanner is designed with patient safety in mind, reducing radiation exposure and minimizing the need for repositioning during scans.”

The Siemens X.Cite CT scanner offers advanced imaging capabilities that enable quicker, more precise diagnoses, significantly enhancing the hospital’s ability to provide timely care. “The new scanner provides superior imaging, allowing for faster scans with improved diagnostic accuracy,” said David Hindson, M.D., Saratoga Hospital Medical Staff president and Millennium Medical Imaging vice president. “This means shorter wait times, faster diagnoses, and more streamlined treatment planning—critical factors for better patient outcomes and clinical efficiency.”
