16th Annual Fun Run Breaks Participation Record

On Sunday, June 2, more than 1100 kids and parents participated in the 16th annual Cantina Fun in support of our pediatric emergency services. More than 100 staff and community volunteers worked throughout the weekend to ensure a great experience for all! Thanks to the support of event sponsors, volunteers, runners and spectators, more than $72,000 was raised through this year’s event.

ABOUT THE EVENT

The Cantina Kids Fun Run is an athletic event for kids age 12 and under held in beautiful Congress Park in downtown Saratoga Springs. With an average of 1,000 participants and hundreds of volunteers, the Fun Run brings families together to support pediatric emergency services are at Saratoga Hospital.

Each year, we care for more than 10,000 children through our emergency care services. Pediatric patients require special equipment, expertise and responsiveness. The Cantina Kids Fun Run has supported each of these key areas to ensure we are ready for whatever comes through our doors. To date, the event has raised over $900,000.Cantina Kids Fun Run proceeds go directly to pediatric related training,certifications, equipment and technology, enabling Saratoga Hospital to provide a high level of care to pediatric patients and their families.

The only run in Saratoga Springs that’s designed especially for kids, the Cantina Kids Fun Run makes a difference for every pediatric patient treated at Saratoga Hospital. A great event for the whole family! We founded the Fun Run in 2008 in honor of our daughter, who was born with a rare and extremely hard to control form of epilepsy. Knowing that quality pediatric emergency care is important to all parents, whether for a broken arm, stitches, or something more serious, we created the event as a way to give back to the community and we are so thankful for your participation and support!
